Our Roots
Richard Dutson started Chevelle Contractors in 2003. Drawing on his experience of framing buildings on military bases and working as a superintendent on a construction crew. Dutson, who started by framing houses in St. George with his friend Enoch Jeffs, eventually moved the business to Salt Lake City and worked on multi-family projects in the Salt Lake area, Idaho, and Wyoming. From 2012 to 2024 we have grown from a small shop with three employees to a leading commercial wood framing company with a team of more than 30 tradesmen serving developers and contractors in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Nevada.
We have established close relationships with suppliers and built a reputation among developers and contractors alike as a trusted partner that provides quality craftsmanship at a fair price. We provide wood framing for multi-family, hospitality, student housing, commercial, and custom home builds.
